It's not about us. Except on this page; this is all about us.
It's really simple: I wanted to build a great sounding amp, a great looking amp, and an ethical amp.
There is no point in building an amp that sounds bad. There is no point in building an amp that only gives up the goods when you put a new speaker in, or change the tubes, or make a modification. My amps rock out of the box.
I have no idea why other amps look so ugly. I know that not everyone can afford a large house with a music room to keep their gear in. Garages are not actually a universal entitlement. So if you're like most people, you'll have to find space in your living room or bedroom for your gear. And I can't be the only one that likes both Jimmy Page and Mies van der Rohe.
There is no point in glossing over the fact that my amps are more expensive than other amps. But there are good reasons. I use quality components to make a quality amp. These amps are designed to last. All amps will eventually need service - capacitors need to be replaced after 6-10 years, and we've designed our products to be serviceable, not thrown away into a landfill. My amps are assembled here in Vancouver, BC, the cabinets are made in Vancouver, BC and my manufacturing partners outside of Canada are in countries that are democratic, have good labour laws, and have a good standard of living.
